About

Me A bit about me: I spend a lot of my time trying to live my best life. For many years I’ve struggled with eating enough and eating enough of the right foods. In 2010 I decided to go from a vegetarian diet to one free of animal products, as well as a concentrated effort toward whole foods. My weekly physical activity routine involves lots of walking, a car-free lifestyle, two to three hours weight training and an hour or two of miscellaneous cardio.

While all of this helps me to be healthy on the inside, I strive to look good on the outside with as many natural alternatives to beauty products as I can discover. I love natural hair care, beauty, and fashion that is current, but still reflects my personal style.

My social life is my heart and soul. I love good friends, good dinner parties, and taking in local music & art. In my spare time I try to make my home my nest. I love accessories that have a touch of whimsy, like my stainless-steel owl sculpture. I adore vintage clothing & decor from the 1940s through 70s. A good book in a clean, comfy bed or bubble bath is my sanctuary. I adore animals and have a happy little feline boy named Gabriel. I’m boy crazy; always have been, always will be!

Stuff you should know:

– Images are either created by myself, from stock photography sites claiming they are public domain, or will be credited back to their sources. (psst. sadly my SLR has died so my own photos are coming from my sad iPhone 4 camera for the next few months. Sorry for any ugly this may cause).

- I don’t take any of this seriously at all. It’s a blog completely for fun.

- If you want to comment, please do! I love comments.

- I love local. I live in Saint John which is in southern New Brunswick, Canada and you will find me mentioning many local places and businesses.

    Hey Kelly,
It’s Julia here…you mentioned you had a blog the other night at the Sunstar and hey, I found it! Looks really cool.

I’m wondering, would you be interested in having it profiled in Here Magazine? I’m doing a special feature on local fashion blogs for our tech column. I’m asking Barb and the girl who does Fortunate Fool as well. Email me at this address for details if you’re interested.

    Thanks! Julia
